Hannah & Phil's St Paul's Bay Wedding in Rhodes, Greece

St Paul's Bay, Rhodes Wedding Photographer

When Han emailed me saying that her and Phil wanted me to photograph their wedding, I felt so honoured as I've know the pair since high school where they first met. And then they told me they were tying the knot in Greece and wanted me to fly out with them - one word... YAS!

Han & Phil chose to get married at the stunning St Paul's Bay in Rhodes, on a little wooden jetty over the water. After a champagne toast on the boat whilst cruising round the island we headed to Tambakio Restaurant to carry on the celebrations in style. Tambakio is a stunning venue right on the beach overlooking the water, with olive tree's decorating rustic wooden tables & sand under foot - you couldn't get a more perfect destination wedding venue.

After some uhhh-mazing food there was a surprise appearance from the Greek dancers, who took pleasure in teaching Phil & the groomsmen some rather questionable dance moves. That could only be followed by Phil's 'Classic Dance' half hour, where we danced on the beach to Pretty Green Eyes and other cheesy *ahem* amazing dance classics!

Thanks so much for asking me to be a part of your beautiful, beautiful wedding guys. Hope you love your preview.. can't wait to show you the rest! <3

Kira & Rock's Pre-Wedding Shoot around the French Concession in Shanghai

2017-05-17_0038.jpg

Four weeks ago, I packed up my camera & laptop and set off to spend a month in China. Whilst I couldn't wait for a bit of a break before a busy summer, I also couldn't resist planning a shoot or two for whilst I was away!

Based mainly in Shanghai I had so much time to explore the city and fall a little bit in love with it. The French Concession is such a beautiful area & definitely one of my favourite places to spend time, each street is shaded with tree's, there's more coffee shops than you could ever imagine & it's got a quiet sleepy atmosphere that's hard to find in an Asian city - it was the perfect location for Kira & Rock's pre-shoot as well as being the first place they lived together.

Kira first moved to Shanghai as a student on a placement year and soon fell in love with the city. After finishing her degree back home she moved back to Shanghai, met Rock two months later & the rest is history! They get married in Austria in a couple of weeks (and again in Beijing a few weeks after that,) so the shoot was a perfect way for them to celebrate their engagement.

Camille & Thomas's Rainy Shanghai Shoot in Yuyuan Gardens

We narrowed down the dates we were all available to shoot on and realised we only had one possible day, the day before Camille flew back to France after four and a half months in Shanghai - which felt like a great way to mark her & Thomas's time in the city together!

The morning of the 4th came around and it was chucking it down so we decided to postpone the shoot until that afternoon to see if the rain would ease off.. It didn't! Left with no other date to rearrange to, we decided to embrace the rain and go ahead anyway.

And I'm so glad we did!

Cayli & Darren's Ibiza Island Wedding at Elixir, Spain

Cayli & Darren walk hand in hand along Cala Codolar Beach

I've been very (im)patiently waiting to reveal this blog & today is finally the day!

What.A.Wedding.

Cayli & Darren don't do anything by halves, after 18 years together they wanted the Ibiza Wedding they'd always dreamed of, complete with sun, sea, 42 of their closest friends & family & not forgetting a performance from Lovely Laura!

I joined them over at the Grand Palladium Palace, Playa d'en Bossa where everyone was busy getting ready for the day ahead. Cayli had kept EVERYTHING a secret (even from her bridesmaids,) her beautiful dress, Sophia Webster shoes, the incredible Elixir... her guests had just been given a time to get into their glad-rags & meet outside the hotel!

When everyone was just about ready, I headed over to Elixir taking Darren & his two best men with me, slightly nervous my Spanish driving wasn't quite ready for passengers but we got their safe & sound and in plenty of time. The guests soon followed and finally got to see the secret venue!

Elixir is situated right at the top of a cliff, overlooking the picturesque little bay of Cala Codolar. It's the sort of view that literally takes your breath away & I can understand why Cayli & Darren wanted their guests to see it for the first time, just moments before the ceremony. It set the perfect scene for their perfect day.

After some rather emotional speeches everyone sat down for a meal (fit for the King of Spain.) It would of been absolutely criminal not to take the newlywed's down to the beach during the beautiful sunset for their photographs, so we nipped down in between courses!

Minori Wedding, Amalfi Coast - Destination Wedding Photography

I honestly don't know where to start.

I've spent the last week in Minori, one of the most charming & charismatic little town's I've ever been lucky enough to visit. Minori is nestled right in the heart of the beautiful Amalfi Coast, situated only a couple of miles from Amalfi itself. It's one of those places where time seems to stand still & it truly exceed's how beautiful people say it is.

Tamsin & Ben chose their venue based on what they both decided was the most important part of the day for them.. the food! Villa Maria is famous for home grown, home cooked Italian food, accompanied by their very own home made wine. They didn't disappoint - 7 courses of the most incredible feast, including antipasti, seafood, pasta & limoncello... it was a good job there was music and dancing between each course, just to work up to the next!

Villa Maria itself is situated right at the top of the hill, with the most picturesque view looking down on the whole of Minori. Bursting with that old rustic Italian charm, the outdoor area's are shaded with a canopy of lemon & grape vines, each room completed with a set of green shutters on the doors & the wonderful hosts, Vincenzo & Maria who could not of done more.

After Tamsin & Ben were declared Husband & Wife in Minori Municipio, the guests went to grab an ice-cream whilst we took to the streets to make the most of the most perfect backdrop for their portraits. After trying to plan a route for us to take the day I arrived, I decided it was impossible to choose one street over the next, every direction you looked in was a photo opportunity not to be missed!

To anyone who has a chance to visit Minori, you won't regret it <3

Destination Wedding Shoot in Mont Martre, Paris

mont martre, destination wedding

It was that time of year where wedding season was fast approaching. After a couple of quieter winter months, myself & photographer friend, Helen Smiddy decided to set off for Paris to work on a couple of styled shoots, to give us the boost we needed after winter!

Having attended an uhh-mazing photography festival the week before, the creative juices were flowing and it gave us the perfect opportunity to work on some new techniques, all whilst consuming our body weight in coffee & cheese. Bliss <3

Mont Marte was a very obvious choice of location for our parisian wedding shoot. The cobbled streets, artists painting in the square and french cafe's made for the perfect backdrop.

Huge thank-you to Ophelie & Djamal for braving the cold and just being perfect!

I spent last week in the BEAUTIFUL Santa Maria, Italy at The Secret Retreat workshop. I can't begin to describe how much I learned & what a completely invaluable experience it was for me. Ever since touching down in Italy my mind has been spinning with inspiration & ideas! Sooo.. Keep your eyes peeled for some changed to my website & branding over the next few months!

We were well and truly spoilt whilst on our little retreat, shooting at the Palazzo Belmonte & hanging out with the prince ;) It was every wedding photographers dream. Santa Maria is made up of quaint cobbled streets & has a nostalgic 'frozen-in-time' atmosphere, the ideal place to clear your head and start planning for the future

A huuuuge thank-you to the beautiful Bev & Paul for being so perfect <3
